The Beach Book is a local Dare County business committed to helping local residents, visitors, and business owners alike. Our office is located at 1518 S. Memorial Blvd. in Kill Devil Hills - feel free to stop by if you have any questions, concerns, changes to a listing, or would just like to pick up a copy of the book. We also encourage ideas from our community on how we can better serve you.

About the Cover

Each year the Beach Book hosts a cover art competition along with the Dare County Arts Council. The winner is selected by an independent panel of judges and graces the cover of our book. A few words from Rick... "I love to paint every day and I strive to bring my paintings to light and to life. I set up a blog as a diary of my progress (obxfineart.blogspot.com). In the process I have studied with the worlds best painters working today. Creating big worlds with little brushes is a gas and I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed painting them. I like to think that I am out here at the beach, kickin' back for all you good folks that can't. I have been a resident of The Outer Banks since 1987. I grew up in the glacial lakes region of South Dakota. I make mention of this in case you wonder why a guy living in a resort beach community paints sheep. I graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor of science degree in landscape architecture. I have practiced as a landscape architect. In September of 2007 I picked up a paint brush and started painting. Now I can't imagine doing anything else."
